Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks are extremely limited in terms of resources. Thus, it is highly necessary that we use routing algorithms which result in reduction of energy consumption and efficient use of bandwidth. A lot of routing algorithms have been proposed in this field. In this paper, studying LEACH algorithm with its advantages and disadvantages, we have proposed a new routing algorithm using clustering and ant-colony algorithms. By creating clusters of identical size at the time of network installation and maintaining that, the proposed algorithm, unlike LEACH, causes reduction of consumption of energy and network bandwidth. Moreover, with two cluster-heads used in each cluster and a new function employed for selecting them in turn among cluster members and multi-hop data transmission from cluster-heads to base station using AS-RSN algorithm aims to increase the lifetime of wireless sensor network. The simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm had a better function by 60, 30, and 125 % than LEACH, E-ACHS, and AS-RSN.
