Guiding Endosomal Maturation

In the endocytic pathway, early endosomes are converted into late endosomes by exchange of their associated Rab GTPases. In this issue, identify the SAND-1/Mon1 protein as a switch that shuts off the recruitment of one Rab (Rab5) and facilitates the activation of the next (Rab7).
