A comparison of mineral fouling propensity of three coals using a pilot scale under-fed stoker combustor

Using a pilot scale underfed stoker solid fuel combustor for the assessment of the fouling potential of three different coals including anthracite, Scottish and Columbian bituminous, it has been demonstrated that Na2O content of ash and the chlorine content of the coal, are indicators of the fouling potential.
