Abstract :
Since past years, a variety of scholars and philosophers paid attention to identify a utopia for human social life. So, each have their own definition and perspective of an ideal city (utopia). It seems that the notion of human rights and justice are the precursor to the formation of such idea. Therefore, the architecture and the framework of city have a significant role in realization of these visions. As the civil rights have a critical position in formation of a utopia and to achieve a contemporary criteria for it, the current study aims to provide definition and explanation of utopia and civil rights in Islamic thought and other nations view, with a exploratory and comparative method. In continue, this paper attempts to explain the principles and criteria for civil rights in society, as well as provide suggestions for the observance of human rights in contemporary societies both theoretically and practically, by analyzing the principles of Islamic law.
