Abstract :
A kinetics-based differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) method was reported for the determination of glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) activity in human serum with a gold microelectrode. The production rate of NAD+ via GPT enzymatic reaction was measured electrochemically by following the increase in the DPV peak current of the NAD+ reduction peak appearing at — 1.07 versus Ag/AgCl. A linear response over a range of GPT activity from 0–200 U1−1 was obtained under the optimal conditions. The detection limit was 0.3 U1−1. Satisfactory results were obtained for the determination of GPT in patient serum samples.
