Abstract :
The separation of barbiturates by means of a mathematical design in micellar liquid chromatography has been studied. The empirical regression equations have been deduced, which adequately describe the dependence of selectivity and resolution of chromatographic separation on the following factors: micelle concentration, organic modifier quantity, and pH. The strong interaction of these factors is established quantitatively. On the basis of an analysis of the regression equations it is possible to predict the experimental conditions which provide an improved separation.
