Abstract :
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the rate of students’ awareness of life skills concept and its usage in Islamic Azad University Khoy Branch. Statistical population includes all of the higher education students in Islamic Azad University Khoy Branch that are about 521 people. According to Cochran’s formula 221 students are selected as the sample group by random sampling. Research method is a descriptive- correlational one. Data is collected by life skills Questionnaire of Yarmohammadi vasel with Likert style. Its reliability is approved by experts and university professors and its validity is determined by Corenbah’s Alfa. Data is analyzed by descriptive statistics, and inferential statistics via SPSS version 16.Results show that there is a difference between the rate of students awareness regarding their age, gender, studying field, marital status and average. Results also show that students’ average can be predicted based on life skills and personal variables. Finally, results of regression show that studying field has the most and marital status has the least effect on prediction. Based on the results it can be suggested that designed curriculum for students should be according to their needs and their individual and social characteristics.
