Abstract :
Chromium hexacyanoferrate possesses an electrocatalytic property for the reduction of hydrogen peroxide at 0.0 V and this mixed-valence cluster can also be utilized as a matrix to immobilize enzyme onto the interface of a glucose biosensor. The electrochemical glucose biosensor possesses a linearity up to 4 mM (R=0.9994) with sensitivity of 3.793 μA/mM per cm2. The apparent Michaelis–Menten constant is 29.9 mM (calculated from the reciprocal plot) under a steady-state condition. The detection limit is 3.1×10−6 M (S/N=3). There are two interferences observed at the detection of glucose such as ascorbic acid (1.48%) and cysteine (2.78%) in the presence of 5.5 mM glucose. However, no other interference was observed from the addition of other interference such as uric acid, acetaminophen, tyrosine and galactose.
