Measurement of dissolved total nitrogen in wastewater by UV photooxidation with peroxodisulphate Original Research Article

A simple, rapid procedure using mild conditions has been developed for total nitrogen determination in water samples (10–700 mg N l−1). Reduced forms of nitrogen are oxidised to nitrate by peroxodisulphate/far-UV photooxidation. The nitrate concentration is measured with UV spectrophotometry.
