Fluorimetric method for the determination of thiocyanate with 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescein and iodine Original Research Article

A highly sensitive and selective fluorimetric method has been developed for the determination of thiocyanate with 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescein (λex = 508 nm, λem = 524 nm) at pH 5.8–6.7. The calibration graph is linear over the range 1.0–60 ng ml−1 SCN−. The detection limit is 1.0 ng ml−1 SCN−. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of thiocyanate ion in saliva and serum.
