On-line assay of S-captopril using an amperometric biosensor/sequential injection system Original Research Article

An automated system for the enantiopurity test of S-captopril based on the concept of sequential injection analysis (SIA) with an amperometric biosensor (based on l-amino acid oxidase (l-AAOD)) as detector is described. The proposed system is fully computerised and is suitable for the on-line monitoring of S-captopril at a sampling rate of 80 samples per hour with an RSD <0.22% in the linear range between 0.05 and 1.50 μmol/l. The detection limit is 16 nmol/l.
