Abstract :
The potential of discrete patterned perpendicular media is investigated by using micromagnetic simulations. Each discrete patterned track is physically separated with grooves. In this paper, modeling area is 1.92 (mu)m * 0.64 (mu)m and 16 transitions with frequency of 100 MHz are recorded on the area with modeled single pole write head. The simulation results show that the elimination of side-write-fringe improves the signal-to-noise ratio and the off-track capabilities.
