Micromagnetic dynamic computations including eddy currents

A three-dimensional dynamic micromagnetic model including the effect of eddy currents has been developed. Its application to magnetization reversal processes in permalloy nanocubes of 40-nm side is presented for applied fields with rise times of 0.1ns. Under certain conditions, for damping parameters (alpha) = 0.01 and (alpha) = 0.1, the effect of the eddy currents triggers the precessional switching anticipating the reversal of the magnetization. For a damping constant (alpha) = 0.5, the contribution of the eddy currents does not allow a full reversal of the magnetization.
