Determination of Motivational Interviewing Effec-tiveness on the Severity of Symptoms of Addiction as well as Satisfaction and Relapse Rate in the Drug-Dependent Clients

Introduction: addiction is a disease of the brain, that the brain is unable of its natural function in some field, such as motivation, attention, perception, memory, planning and so on. The usage of motivational interview is guidance method and at the same time is client centered. Its basis is on the participation of the patient, call the internal motivation and respect for their basic sense of autonomy. Method: this research study is quasi-experimental design with type of pre test, posttest. In addition, to check the influence of motivational interviewing, relapse rate and satisfaction of individuals depended in drug in methadone maintenance treatment, research community includes those depended on drugs went to drug abuse treatment center (Sepas), Zahedan, from April 2012 to March 2013 by self visit and they had methadone maintenance therapy. This research tool contains addiction severity index and researcher made satisfaction questionnaire. To analyze the information in the inferential level analysis to test the assumptions used MANOVA test. Findings: the results indicated that the motivational interview in experimental group was useful in addiction leave and this group show less signs of relapse than the control group. In addition, this process was effective on the satisfaction of our visitors.
