Abstract :
The composite material was produced by direct interaction of molten silicon with carbon fibres of threaded textile form. It was shown that the formation of the material C/SiC component is the result of two simultaneous processes: saturation and carbidization. The comparison of the proposed scheme with the experimental data showed that the formation of the C/SiC component is strongly dependent on the fibre type. The study of electrical and optical properties revealed that the composite material resistance is determined by the Si matrix up to 1000 °C. Above 1000 °C, the resistance decreases due to the contribution of the SiC framework.
