Abstract :
The emission property of Si nanocrystals (nc-Si) in an optical microcavity was studied by photoluminescence (PL) and time resolved PL measurements. The PL from the microcavity was narrowed to the line width of View the MathML source, enhanced by a factor of 20 compared to the same film without microcavity. The lifetime for nc-Si became shorter by putting the film in microcavity. This results could be well-explained by the redistribution of the optical modes in the cavity due to the presence of the optical resonator.
