Abstract
By using the Lee, Low, and Pines variational method, the basic properties of Fröhlich polaron in the quantum well wire in the presence of an electric field are investigated. The analytical expressions for the polaron self-energy, the effective mass, and the average number of virtual phonons are obtained.
