Abstract
We have fabricated and studied ballistic one-dimensional hole quantum wires using a high mobility undoped (1 0 0)-oriented AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure. The devices exhibit clear quantized conductance plateaus with highly stable gate characteristics. These devices provide a platform for studying one-dimensional phenomena in hole systems with minimal crystallographic effects.
