Abstract :
We present a theoretical study of the magneto-optical (MO) absorption in an InAs/GaSb-based type II and broken-gap quantum well (T2BG-QW) system subjected to the magnetic fields. It is found that the MO absorption is mainly achieved by the intra-layer Landau-level (LL) transitions while the inter-layer LL transitions have almost no contribution. As a result, two absorption peaks induced by the intra-layer LL transitions can be observed around the electron and hole cyclotron resonance (CR) frequencies. Furthermore, the temperature dependence of the MO absorption spectrum is examined in this paper. We find that the intensity of the MO absorption varies significantly with changing temperature.
