  • Abstract
We consider the effects of hydrostatic pressure, temperature, and applied electric field on the binding energy of a donor-impurity in Pöschl–Teller quantum well. The ground state energy and the wave function of electron in the presence of the applied electric field and the impurity center are calculated using the variational method and the effective mass and parabolic band approximations. The binding energy dependencies on the electric field, hydrostatic pressure, and temperature are reported for different values of the parameters of the Pöschl–Teller quantum well. The results show that the binding energy is an increasing or decreasing function of the electric field which depends on the chosen parameters of the QW. Also, we have observed that the binding energy is an increasing (decreasing) function of the hydrostatic pressure (temperature).
