Intersubband plasmon–polaritons in MQW structures and their manifestation in IR spectra

The properties of the radiative intersubband plasmon–polaritons in multiple quantum wells (MQWs) with normal and inverted subband occupation are discussed theoretically modeling of MQW by a uniform uniaxial effective medium. The characteristics of the modes of particular importance in determining the infrared spectra of “dielectric-MQW-metal” systems are emphasized.
