Abstract
Reflection and transmission spectra of the photonic crystal made of the triangular lattice of Si nanopillars are studied both theoretically and experimentally. We show that the available spectral range for the photonic crystals made of Si nanopillars can be extended down to the submicrometer wavelengths, light absorption by Si nanopillars being insignificant. Reflection and transmission features associated with the photonic band gap of the triangular lattice of Si nanopillars with a period of View the MathML source are observed in the submicrometer spectral range.
