Abstract :
We report on the realization of an indistinguishable single-photon source, based on a single quantum dot embedded in a photonic crystal slab cavity. Exploiting the strong light-confinement provided by the two-dimensional photonic band gap, a significant shortening of the spontaneous emission lifetime is achieved, leading to a photon indistinguishability efficiency of 72%.
