Abstract :
In this paper simultaneous effects of Dresselhaus spin–orbit interaction, electric field and dimension on the optical rectification coefficient of a typical III–V semiconductor cubic quantum dot are studied. Based on the results obtained from our recent paper [B. Vaseghi, et al., Physica E 43 (2011) 1080] optical rectification coefficient is calculated and plotted for different situations. Results show that this optical quantity strongly depends not only on the SOI, but also on the external electric field and the dot size. SOI decreases the optical rectification coefficient magnitude and moves the peak values to the lower energy regions. Both the dot size and electric field strength increase the optical rectification coefficient.
