Abstract :
So what does an artificial intelligence do with itself after it has become self-aware? Suppose that we do succeed in creating an AI. Or suppose that an AI emerges spontaneously out of data networksʹ growing complexity. What then-from the point of view of the AI? Science fiction provides some interesting thought experiments on the subject of AI motivation.
