Abstract :
Spectra of energy-analysed photoelectrons in coincidence with energetic ion fragments from dissociative ionisation of O2 and NO at 30.4 nm are analysed to give dissociation channel branching ratios and oriented-molecule photoelectron angular distributions. Anisotropic electron angular distributions are found in formation of the B 2Σ−, 3 2Πu and 2Σu− states of O2+, the c 3Π and B′ 1Σ+ states of NO+ and in formation of several unidentified higher-energy states of both molecular ions by 30.4 nm photoionisation.
