Abstract :
Tungsten oxides isolated in solid neon matrices were generated using the pulsed laser vaporization technique, and their absorption as well as laser induced fluorescence spectra (LIF) were examined. A clearly resolved tungsten isotopic structure permits unambiguous spectral assignments. With the help of near infrared emission, several low lying electronic states of WO are observed and characterized. The symmetric stretching frequency of the triatomic WO2 is identified, and the structure of the molecule is discussed.
