Kurtosis of level distributions in vibrational spectra.: Coupled Morse oscillators Original Research Article

The kurtosis of the spectral density distribution of a Hamiltonian representing a system of N coupled Morse oscillators and, hence, describing molecular vibrations in the local mode approximation is derived. Detailed expressions are given for some special cases. The dependence on N and on the value of coupling parameter is discussed.
