The interatomic potentials and dipole moments of the excited 1u state of Cd–Cd and 31 state of Cd–Ar Original Research Article

The molecular band at Δν=770 cm−1 and also the satellite at Δν=73 cm−1 appearing on the blue wing of the intercombination Cd (326.1 nm) line broadened, respectively, by Cd and Ar pressures have been analyzed using the unified Frank–Condon model developed by Szudy and Baylis. To interpret the experimental band and the satellite profiles, the interatomic potentials of the molecular states and the dipole moments associated with these profiles have been modified to give the best fit profiles with the experimental one.
