  • Abstract
    The ESR method has been applied to study the kinetics of the capture of randomly walking Ag+ ions by radiation-induced traps in the glass 37.2Na2O12.8CaO50P2O5. The dependence of the law of trap decay on the concentration of walkers in the glass has been analyzed. It has been established that the flux of ions into each trap is just the same as in the case of normal diffusion with the law for the mean square displacement of walkers 〈r2(t)〉αDt. The law holds, at least, for the distance range from ≈5 to 100 Å. At the same time, depending on trap location, the diffusion coefficient D changes within a fairly wide range, i.e. there are spatial fluctuations of the diffusion coefficient.
