Abstract
We report new Franck-Condon factors for the K2(B1Πu−X1Σg+) electronic state transition. The Cooley numerical integration method is used to generate rovibrational emergies and their associated wavefunctions. The calculated Franck-Condon factors are compared to experimental observations of pulsed optically pumped laser emission originating on rovibrational levels up to and near the dissociation limit of the K2(B1Πu) state. These emission typically occur only on the strongest or second strongest transitions originating on a specific rovibrational level of the K2(B1Πu) state.
