Abstract
Monte Carlo experiments are used to investigate the adsorption of argon on a heterogeneous solid with a periodic distribution of surface energy. A study is made of the relation between the adsorbate moleculeʹs diameter and the distance between the sites of maximum surface energy on the critical temperature, the observed phase changes, and the commensurability of the surface phase structure determined in the simulation.
