Abstract
The photosensitivity of an organic single-layered photoreceptor comprising crystalline mixture of metal-free phthalocyanine (H2Pc) and chloroindium phthalocyanine (InClPc) was investigated. The photoreceptor exhibited enhanced photoconductivity in the visible region while still remaining high photoconductivity in the near-infrared region. UV–Vis spectra suggested that there was no detectable interaction between InClPc and H2Pc molecules in the ground state. X-ray diffraction measurements showed that an aggregate state change of H2Pc/InClPc took place. Based on XPS, an intermolecular partial charge transfer was observed and taken as the microcosmic mechanism of coordination-enhanced photosensitivity.
