Abstract :
A new perovskite compound Gd2MnTiO6 was synthesized and its crystal structure, magnetic and thermal properties have been investigated. The XRD patterns were refined by the Rietveld method and the refined lattice parameters with the monoclinic space group P21/n (No. 14) were a=0.5398 (2), b=0.5704 (2), c=0.7767 (2) nm and β=89.68 (2)°. The antiferromagnetic behavior was observed below 16.0 K and λ-type heat capacity was measured near this temperature.
