Abstract :
CdSe nanocrystallites have been successfully loaded inside the channel of SBA-15 by a two-step impregnation at room temperature. The method is safe and does not require any special equipment. XRD, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, HRTEM, EDS, FTIR, and UV–vis absorption spectrum were used to characterize the structure of the composite materials. It is found that most of the CdSe nanocrystallites are about 7 nm, and they stretch along the channels of SBA-15 with the length varying from 10 to 40 nm. The CdSe nanocrystallites inside the SBA-15 hosts show a significant blue-shift in the UV–vis absorption spectrum.
