Abstract :
Robust co-ordinated controller design is studied for multimachine power systems with both controllers of excitation and static synchronous compensation. Generalised Hamiltonian control theory is extended using boundary conditions, and a united Hamiltonian formulation for multimachine power systems is presented while the effect of transfer conductance is included. Furthermore, an energy-based control law is designed with L/sub 2/ gain techniques, and an adaptive mechanism is also introduced to the proposed feedback controllers to improve the robustness on the parametric uncertainty. Based on a generally developed Hamiltonian control method, decentralised robust co-ordinated controllers are proposed, and simulation results show that transient stability of the overall system can be enhanced significantly as well as voltage quality improvement, regardless of different conditions of operation points and fault locations.
