Process design of the cold extrusion of a billet using finite element method

Using commercial finite element software this study proposes the multi-stage process design, which can prevent the flow defect in the combined forward–backward cold extrusion of a billet. The final results of numerical simulations and photograph of cross-sectioned part will be used to illustrate successfully manufactured part.
