Abstract :
The success of the porcelain-fused-to-alloy restoration depends primarily on the bond strength between porcelain and metal substructure. This study evaluated the bonding characteristics of six porcelains fused to three different alloys. The bond strength of the specimens was tested using a 3-point bending test. According to the test results, although the metal–porcelain systems presented statistically significant differences between them (p < 0.05), the bending strength values of all metal–porcelain systems were within the acceptable levels (25 N/mm2) in the DIN 13927. When we compared the bond strength values regarding precious and non-precious alloys, no standard behavior was observed among metal–ceramic systems.
