Abstract
An absorption enhancement technique and testing results are presented here. The technique increases the mixing rates at the solution–vapor interface. The second qualifying quality is that, unlike additives, this technique may not require periodic replenishment of organic compounds depleted by thermal instability effects. The results shown here cover a range of solution Reynolds numbers from 20 to 300, with mixing scales from 0.2 to 1 mm, and mixing frequencies from 20 to 100 Hz for solution flow over a vertical flat plate. Analysis shows that significant increases of the absorption rate are possible.
