Abstract :
A novel method to expand compensation bandwidth (CBW) of a tunable dispersion compensator based on ring resonators has been proposed and experimentally verified. The employment of negative group delay peak increased the ratio of CBW against the free spectral range (25 GHz) from 75 to 86%, and the improved dispersion compensation characteristics were confirmed by a 10 Gbit/s transmission experiment.
