QoS enhancement scheme of EDCF in IEEE 802.11e wireless LANs

A simple and effective scheme for improving the Quality of Service (QoS) performance of the enhanced distributed coordination function (EDCF) in the IEEE 802.11e wireless LANs is presented. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides a good service differentiation and outperforms the EDCF in terms of throughput and delay under a wide range of load.
