Abstract :
Possible sex pheromones of the brachyuran crab Erimacrus isenbeckii have been isolated by using a unique sponge assay from the water in which postmolt females had been maintained. Their structures were elucidated to be new ceramides by spectroscopic and chemical degradation studies.
