Synthesis of desymmetrized, enantiopure dihydro-methano-diarylazocines: topologically interesting eyeteaser molecules

Friedel–Crafts double cyclizations of enantiopure N,N-dibenzyl α-amino aldehydes derived from the corresponding α-amino acids leads to topologically unique, bridged tetrahydroisoquinolines in one step.
