Abstract :
Treatment of bicyclo[2.2.1]heptene having an exo- or endo-olefinic side chain with a catalytic amount of Grubbsʹ Ru carbene complex under ethylene atmosphere provided bicyclo[3.3.0]octene or bicyclo[4.3.0]nonene compounds by domino ROM–RCM reaction.
