Abstract :
Flash vacuum pyrolysis of arylmethylazides gave 2,4-diazapentadienes in high yield (76–92%). The thermal cyclization of gave cis-imidazolines , further heating or Swern oxidation of gave dehydrogenated products, imidazoles .
