Abstract :
This work deals with the interaction of the crown conformer of octamethoxyresorcinarene (OMRA) with organic acids in carbon tetrachloride and benzene. The cooperative and allosterical character of these interactions was observed using UV–Vis spectroscopy. The quantitative description of the observed conformational transformations was attempted, based on the proposed triconformational allosterical model. It was found using NMR that the crown conformer of OMRA undergoes transformation to the chair and diamond conformers in the presence of an acid.
