  • Abstract
    Alkyl bromoacetates were shown to be versatile transesterification reagents. Isoxazoles underwent chemoselective transesterification when treated with alkyl bromoacetate–Zn in THF at reflux. A suggested mechanism of the new reaction was discussed.
