Abstract :
Practical enantioselective synthetic method of fully deuterated (R)-mevalonolactone has been developed based upon Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation. (R)-Mevalonolactone-d9 was prepared on multi-gram scale in seven steps in 17% overall yield.
