Thioamides versus amides in anion binding

Amide and thioamide derivatives of the 1H-pyrrole-2,5-dicarboxylic acid have been synthesised. Properties of these simple anion receptors and their behaviour in the presence of anions have been studied both in solution and in the solid state. The results allowed to compare anion complexation properties of thioamides versus their amide analogues.
