Abstract :
Microstructure evolution and elements distribution in the dry sliding friction induced highly deformed layer of T10 steel pin sliding against 20CrMnTi disk was studied by means of Optical Microscopy (OM), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD) and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS). The gradient ultrafine ferrites were produced in the highly deformed layer of T10 steel pin specimen along the longitudinal section with the increasing depth, whose grain sizes were in the range from 10 nm to 200 nm. The diffusion behavior of Cr and Ti in such a highly deformed layer was investigated.
